In this video Lacey and Pauline demonstrate how we can use signs when signing ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’. We use these signs alongside the songs we sing at nursery to help children develop their early language skills when communicating. Children may just copy one sign to begin with e.g. ‘please’ but by practising the songs and using the signs in everyday routines, a lot of our children begin to use signs naturally. We have included a song sheet below for you to download and look at the signs more clearly
Wallsend Day Nursery
Wallsend Day Nursery is a childcare provider based in heart of Wallsend Town Centre, in the former Wallsend Library Building on Ferndale Avenue. We provide childcare 5 days per week and 51 weeks of the year to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. We also offer a holiday club for older children during school holidays, and we work closely with nearby schools where children may be attending nursery part time both with ourselves and with the school. Our project is called Wallsend Day Nursery in the Community. During the project, over a period of 6 months, we will be creating helpful videos for local families, to support them both to learn and play, and interact with their children at home.
