Churchill school leaders have taken the decision to close for a few days, following a number of positive cases across different year groups. All students will move to a remote learning curriculum.
This short closure will allow a deep clean of the school and help to prevent any further spread in the school. We will have a staggered return, starting with Years 7 and 8 on Monday 28th June, Year 10 on Wednesday 30th June and Years 9 and 12 on Thursday 1st July.
The health and wellbeing of our students, staff and school community is our number one priority and I would reassure our parents that we are taking all necessary actions to keep everyone safe and taking advice from our colleagues in Public Health.
We would remind all students who have been identified as close contacts that there is a legal requirement to complete isolation. We would also reiterate the key public health messages of hands, face, space and limiting social contacts to all our school community to support our efforts to minimise spread of the virus.
In addition, if any student does test positive either through a lateral flow test or PCR over the next week please let school know as soon as possible so we can identify and inform close contacts in a timely manner.
