As part of our School of the Month feature we continue a look inside the school and some of the year 6 pupils interviewed the school cook – Mrs Miller.

What is the most popular thing that you prepare?
Vegetables; thumbs up or thumbs down?
Thumbs up all the way.
How many fish fingers do you cook in a school year?
Thousands, I wouldn’t know where to start! (children worked it out to be around 24,000)
Who was your favourite teacher when you were at school and why?
Miss Morgan because she was very kind. She teaches my daughter now!
What was your favourite school meal?
I’m not sure but I always loved the classic school cake with pink custard.
Did you enjoy school?
I loved primary school.
What is your favourite take away meal?
Most likely Indian although I do like a Chinese.
When you’re not preparing school meals, what do you do to relax?
Walk my dog.
Do you have any hobbies?
I love going to the beach with my family and dog.
Why is Wallsend ‘special’ to you?
It’s where I grew up and where my family grew up.
